Chris Runyon: High School Track and Field Assistant Coach

e4b7351b-5779-49f6-8859-e3da2a151efaChris Runyon has spent his whole life living in the Nashville area. He attended Franklin Road Academy from 1981-1985 and Hillwood High School from 1985-1987. Coach Runyon participated in football, baseball, and track and field at the high school level.

After high school, he accepted a scholarship in track and field to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. There, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science. Coach Runyon started coaching at MJCA in 2013, when he was an assistant coach for the 5th-6th grade football program. In 2015, he and his wife (Jennifer) started the MJCA varsity track and field program. In their first year, they had an athlete qualify for the TSSAA state meet. Chris has been an employee of Metro/Davidson County for 14 years. He and his wife have four children: Justin, Blake, Tate, and Carter.
